Today just before starting this post came accross some startling statistics regarding "SUICIDES" of the youth.SUICIDE a term so casually taken these days as if its a casual day to day activity. After taking all these statistics into consideration a terrible thought or a terrible feeling jus touches every concious mind..Has life become so cheap??Does a six month love affair shake a person so much that his life becomes less in value for him or her??Have we started seeing a lack of will in a person to fight with the circumstances??
If all this is true then we better worry cause if we dont we soon will be in some devil s paradise.
If we take all these numbers into account, starting with Mahararashtra,'we' are the second most suicide prone state in India in 'Youth Suicides'.The leading suicide prone state being Tamil Nadu, which has seen around 19000 odd youth suicides in the year 2011 alone.Maharashtra on the other hand has seen around 16000 odd youth suicides. The reasons cited in the prima facie recee of the sites by the local police are found to be as follows:
Depression,Love affair breakups,Examination failure, peer pressure, loss of jobs, public pressure and the list goes so on and so fold.
Now if we carefully go through these reasons cited do we really feel that these reasons can really be a cause of ending your own life???a question every sound person needs to ask and a question every parent in this country needs to ask himself or herself.Every individual needs to understand and recognise that some of the above mentioned problems can happen to anybody starting from you yourself, your brother, your sister, your kin, your friend.... anybody;then am i in a position to handle myself first??am I strong enough to face these problems?am i strong enough to stop such a terrible thing from happening to me or to anybody else??
If not then WE BETER BE....
Many experts, writers or any domain experts may try and explain the problem taking a particular case into consideration...They may be right in their place...absolutely...But i believe the problem is more fundamental..
As always i would start with family as every problem has a root and the root of every problem particularly of such a magnitude would definitely be family.Today we see all this wishy washy non sense that goes on round the clock that children should be dealt with care, they shouldnt be hit, they shouldnt be failed till a particular grade and stuff...load absolute stupidity..I believe by implementing and following such horrific policies and mindsets is making an individual more weak and unaware and unprepared for the future challenges that a person has to face.We never see our grandparents or parents who have come through more difficult times than us so much as even utter such words and steps. So this problem can be solved to a large extent if parenting is done in a more intelligent manner than jus blindly shielding the kids from challenges.
Second most important role can be played by the society. We sense a lot of negativism in and around the society, among its people, person to person relations have fallen to such a low level that even relatives have become strangers. This situation needs to change dramatically if in all we want to have a better future. The bonds and the warmth between people needs to return.
Thirdly and most importantly the attitude towards life of every individual should change. This change can be brought in on multiple fronts both at the home and school level. The attitude that if you dont get good grades you are useless should completely vanish, every individual should be made to see or rather should be made able enough to see the positive side of every problem. That will give him/her the strength, the confidence, the courage to turn things over.
Lastly would like to appeal to every individual of this country to value your life as well as the life of others.Life is a precious gift..It certainly has bends but should never have an abrupt END.....

Nice attempt I must say.
1.By shielding children we are not letting them to accept failures which has a different aspect in our lives .
2.The attitude that you are talking about ( if you dont get good grades you are useless..) can be transformed by the way how we impart education in our country. I feel education has got a very very important role to play in such scenarios.
3. Nowadays psychological disorders are on rise. Many of the suicides cases are the result of a psychological disorder and failing to recognise that there is no way we can treat such a person. So increase in the awareness of such disorders can also prove to be useful.
Thank you so much for the valuable comments.Kindly spread the word as much as possible
